Perrr...liiiim...piiiim...PUM! A magic word, a gentle voice and four restless pinwheeling friends with a talent for percussion, bringing to life adven- tures and characters from the fabulous world of La Fontaine. Poetry, energy, fun ... all that’s missing is you.
The Senior Choir work´s on dysfunctional repertoire in the rock, pop and popular music mingle in an amalgam of songs belonging to the circle of national references.
These songs revisited and treated with a dose of humor, in themes as The Patient by GNR, Hypertension by Taxi, or even Takes the Pill by Antonio Variações are ironically reinterpreted by a chorus rejuvenated, contradicting the assumption that the senior community only takes place in vocal groups with religious, classic or contemporary repertoire.
In a show full of strength, courage, madness and ecstasy, there are distinct and extraordinary characters who lived in the same area for a long period of time. Their narratives are interwoven with haunting visions, strange traditions and recurring events. Each interconnected story draws a path into the unknown ...

Urban rhythms in collaboration with Joaquim Alves
Hip-Hop, Samba Reggae, Samba Funk, Kuduro along with other African rhythms present in urban culture, are the starting point for the creation of rhythmic compositions using unusual instruments made out of everyday objects. Water tanks, plastic containers, bottles or simply the sounds of the human body take the place of more conventional instruments.
Iniciação à percussão
Created with the intention of developing basic rhythmic aptitudes from amusing shapes and using a breath of instruments adequate to each age group.
2013 is the birth of the Gamelan Ensemble from Casa da Música. This new project from Casa a Música Education Service proposes the addition of a contemporary repertoire to a programme of traditional gamelan music. Originating in Java, Casa da Música’s gamelan is unique amongst its kind. Noble, imposing, striking – these are just some of the adjectives that have been used to describe this percussion orchestra, providing vibrant and resonant sounds as powerful as they are delicate. A key feature of Indonesian culture, it has been gradually conquering the western world. The gamelan at Casa da Música has up to now been mainly used for educational purposes. Now is the time to provide it with an ensemble that might enrich this thousand-year legacy even further.
Without a real horizon, SSS-Q follows paths skewed between free-jazz, experimentalism and not conceptual music, with trumpet and drums in a relationship of organic musical intimacy.Do not think, do not organize and do not pollute sonically, unless that is the immediate desire.
